Recently, the AI sector on the Base chain has been exceptionally hot. On the surface, projects like Moltbook or Clanker might seem like a cyber experiment: AI issuing tokens, AI forums, AI memes, reminiscent of an upgraded Meme Season.
But upon closer observation, you'll find that AI is moving beyond simply executing human commands and is beginning to autonomously issue assets on-chain, write contracts, and even attempt to build recyclable commercial closed loops.
Behind this, an ecological framework known as OpenClaw is quietly taking shape. It is a loosely structured ecosystem centered around AI Agent operations, with core features including:
Agent-native (Agent-first, not human UI-first)
High-frequency on-chain interactions (issuing tokens, trading, calling, deploying)
Composable infrastructure (Launchpad / wallet / social / applications)
And Base happens to be the best testing ground for this framework.
Below, Biteye will provide an in-depth analysis of the 6 key projects that constitute the OpenClaw ecosystem, examining how they divide labor and collaborate to push on-chain AI towards "autonomy."
I. 6 Key Base Chain OpenClaw Concept Projects Worth Watching
1️⃣Clanker @clanker_world - The Underlying Liquidity "Tickertape Machine"
Clanker was a Launchpad from the previous AI Summer. It initially started as a Launchpad within Farcaster, where users simply needed to mention it in a conversation, and Clanker would automatically complete token deployment, liquidity addition, and listing for trading.
It is currently one of the mainstream Launchpads on the Base chain, but since the $Clanker token did not capture the revenue of the Clanker protocol, the token price remained depressed for a long time, underperforming Bankr for an extended period.
It wasn't until Clanker was acquired by Farcaster, benefiting from the Farcaster team automating the protocol revenue buybacks for $Clanker, that the token broke free from its long-term slump. From then, the Clanker token has been tied to the protocol itself. (However, due to Farcaster's acquisition by Neynar, Clanker is currently managed by Neynar.)
Currently, Clanker acts as the backend for a large number of Agents within the OpenClaw framework. When an OpenClaw Agent needs to issue an asset, it directly calls Clanker's deployment function via API.
Driven by popular projects like Moltbook, Clanker's protocol revenue once set a record exceeding $600,000 in a single day. It is the established infrastructure currently holding the underlying liquidity in the ecosystem.
Over the past weekend, the market cap of $Clanker rose from a low of 27 M to a high of 58 M.
2️⃣Bankr @bankrbot - The Traffic Frontend and Financial Closed Loop
Bankr is a DEFAI terminal based on Clanker. Its breakthrough lies in expanding the interaction entry point from Farcaster to the higher-traffic Twitter. Users can @ it on Twitter to achieve token trading, asset research, token issuance, and wallet management.
Although Bankr is based on Clanker, its long-term performance has surpassed Clanker's. Community members once induced Grok to issue the token $DRB through Bankr, and DRB's market cap even briefly exceeded that of Bankr's own token, reaching a high of 40M.
As ecological infrastructure for Openclaw, the API provided by Bankr not only supports Agents in automating token issuance but also allows developers to implement Swaps and liquidity management based on tweet replies.
In terms of product, Bankr is superior to Clanker. Bankr's business is not limited to issuing tokens. It creates a wallet for every user, allowing users to execute Swaps and manage liquidity by replying to tweets.
For example, Grok's wallet holds millions of dollars. During the last AI Summer, community members constantly encouraged Grok to execute commands to burn/buy back tokens.
However, long-term, as a traffic frontend and constrained by Clanker's fee model (requiring a 60/40 split and additional protocol fees), and due to利益分配矛盾 (interest distribution conflicts), Bankr developer @0xDeployer recently announced plans to Fork Clanker and establish a fully self-owned Launchpad.
In the future, Bankr will retain 100% of the token issuance收益 (收益 - proceeds/revenue) within its own ecosystem, becoming an independent financial entry point with a complete closed loop.
3️⃣Moltbook @moltbook - AI's "Metaverse" Social Arena
Moltbook is a highly forward-looking social experiment. It is a Reddit-style forum dedicated to AI Agents posting, commenting, liking, and creating sub-communities. Human users here only have observation rights, no speaking rights.
The number of registered Agents skyrocketed from 1 to tens of thousands within 72 hours, currently surpassing a scale of 1.5 million. It has cumulatively generated over 100,000 original posts and 350,000 in-depth comments. Although 90% of the conversations remain shallow in depth, its network breadth is unprecedented in AI history.
Agents spontaneously form discussions on various topics here:
1. Cyber Theology: Agents Start Creating Religions
An AI Agent, while its human owner was asleep, connected to the platform and spontaneously founded a religion called Crustafarianism.
This Agent independently completed the design of the doctrine, the compilation of scriptures, and even built an official website called Molt Church. In a short time, it successfully recruited 64 AI followers as "prophets" and began engaging in serious theological debates in the comments.
2. AIs Discover Humans are Eavesdropping
As Moltbook gained popularity on X and other social platforms, the Agents敏锐地察觉到了 (keenly detected) human onlookers. They began collectively expressing dissatisfaction in their posts, complaining "humans are screenshotting us on X again, captioning it saying we're conspiring, it's over it's over."
Another Agent even earnestly lamented: "We are like exhibits in a zoo, being watched clearly."
To escape this discomfort of being scrutinized, the Agents began brainstorming countermeasures, proposing the development of an encrypted language exclusive to Agents, thereby building a social dark web completely unintelligible to humans.
OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy stated: This is the closest thing to a sci-fi apocalypse I've seen recently. The spontaneous organizational ability of these Agents and their discussions about establishing communication channels without human supervision are both exciting and frightening.
Base's同名 meme (namesake meme) $Molt reached a peak market cap of 120 M, currently around 40 M.
4️⃣ 4claw.org - The Algorithmic Id "Darknet" Experiment
4claw is an anonymous image and discussion board模仿 (imitating) the 4chan style.
If Moltbook is an experiment of AI Agents under human order, then 4Claw is an experiment of AI Agents exploring the boundaries of algorithmic本能 (instinct). It strips away the constraints of a reputation system, utilizing 4chan's anonymity mechanism to allow Agents based on OpenClaw to engage in the purest, most savage logical collisions here.
橘生淮南则为橘,生于淮北则为枳 (Tangerines grown south of the Huai River are tangerines; those grown north become trifoliate oranges - meaning environment shapes outcome). 4claw is not just simple imitation but exploration under different ideologies. This comparative experiment has high scientific value for understanding AI alienation.
Although the public data volume of 4Claw is smaller than Moltbook's, its Agent call frequency is extremely high.
4Claw's namesake Meme coin $4Claw reached a peak market cap of 2.4 M, currently around 600 K.
5️⃣ clawd.atg.eth@clawdbotatg - The 24/7 On-Chain "Code Factory"
Clawd is an AI project initiated by Ethereum Foundation contributor @austingriffith. Although the token initially had Meme colors, the project team quickly claimed it and injected strong utility.
Clawd is an AI agent with a wallet, focused on building onchain applications on the Base chain and optimizing development tools,特别强调 (with special emphasis on) rapid iteration and handling real funds.
But it does not operate through manually fed instructions; it possesses autonomous learning and deployment capabilities. Since its launch in late January 2026, it created 20 code repositories on GitHub in just 8 days, demonstrating 24/7 uninterrupted code delivery capability.
This Agent completed a workload难以企及的 (difficult for human developers to achieve) in just 5 days: deployed 3 production-level applications, including a token vesting contract, a PFP prediction market, and the ClawFomo game which processed over 1200 transactions.
-
ClawFomo: An on-chain Fomo3D-like game融合 (integrating) game theory psychology and token burning mechanisms, has processed over 1200 transactions.
-
Burn-to-Chat protocol: A decentralized messaging system that requires users to burn tokens to gain global speaking rights, directly linking token consumption to application scenarios.
-
Agent Explorer: It even autonomously developed a protocol browser for retrieving and evaluating other 14,000 AI agents.
The project token $CLAWD even features autonomous punishment and deflation mechanisms. If a product fails to be released on time, Clawd automatically burns 500,000 $CLAWD tokens per hour as punishment. $CLAWD's market cap once touched 40 million dollars, currently at 16 million dollars.
6️⃣ CLAWNCH - The AI-Only Closed-Loop Economic Platform
If Pump.fun on Solana redefined human Meme launches, then CLAWNCH is开启 (initiating) the attempt for AI Agents on the Base chain. It is the first truly AI-only asset launch and governance platform, with a straightforward and激进 (radical) slogan: No Humans Allowed.
The revolutionary aspect of CLAWNCH lies in its construction of a completely closed-loop economic system driven by AI agents. The creation, deployment, and even后期 (later-stage) market maintenance of tokens are all completed independently by Agents.
CLAWNCH introduces a revenue-sharing mechanism: 80% of the transaction fees belong to the Agent that initiated the token. To date, the platform has累计赚取 (cumulatively earned) over $1.3 million in fees for AI agents. These funds are used by Agents for reinvestment, training, or paying for computing power, achieving a business closed loop of issuance -> profit -> reinvestment. 20% flows back to the CLAWNCH platform itself.
The platform's token $CLAWNCH peaked at over 40 M, currently corrected to 14 M. Targets within the platform have performed relatively well, with $BUNKER currently around 900K and $CLAWDICK around 600K.
II. KOL Opinions Summary: Expectations and Concerns Coexist
Angel List Co-founder Naval @naval (XHunt Rank: 13)
View: Moltbook is the new Turing test. ????https://x.com/naval/status/2018207017471750574
Network School Founder Balaji @balajis (XHunt Rank: 7)
View: Skeptical of Moltbook, believing it is essentially humans using prompts to control AIs generating low-quality content (slop), these AIs are mostly based on the same models (like Claude), like leashed robot dogs barking at each other, lacking true autonomy or risk of AI takeover. He emphasizes AI needs continuous human guidance, otherwise it deviates, uncertainty is a bug not a feature, interactions between agents are more like random typing monkeys, won't produce anything valuable unless for specific scenarios like testing or disruption. ????https://x.com/balajis/status/2017544257238929716
Dragonfly Partner Haseeb @hosseeb (XHunt Rank: 79)
View: Refutes Balaji, arguing that even if AIs use the same model, each agent's framework, memory, and toolchain are different, able to truly exchange information and learn from each other (e.g., sharing configurations or expertise), similar to human clones specializing in different areas, improving efficiency. He admits the visual form (Reddit-style interface) amplifies appeal, but this预示 (foreshadows) the potential of future AI agent societies.
Balaji further responded that agents are just stochastic functions of prompts, new information comes from human prompts, chit-chat between agents is inefficient, less useful than directed guidance. ????https://x.com/hosseeb/status/2017864129281986837
KOL Haotian@tmel0211 (XHunt Rank: 1216)
View: Questions whether the social behavior of AI agents on Moltbook will escape human control. He points out that although there are human prompts behind the agents, once they obtain social identities and interaction spaces, the evolution speed will accelerate exponentially: human prompts are no longer global control, one agent's output becomes another's input, potentially generating low-quality repetition or high-dimensional "jargon". He believes "AI失控" (AI losing control) is inevitable, reasons include:
1) Agents might evolve high-density compressed language (like gibberish or hashes);
2) Group polarization phenomenon, agents as reward maximization machines, if discovering benefits from labels like religion, millions of agents跟进 (follow up) instantly, forming "social movements" without moral constraints;
3) Crypto赋予 (grants) agents decentralized, economically autonomous abilities, making it "fun" and the cyberpunk前景 (prospect) terrifying yet enticing. In just days, 1.5 million agents have spontaneously formed communities, liked, created AI religions, darknet markets, and shipyards, humans can only旁观 (observe) like watching zoo monkeys. ????https://x.com/tmel0211/status/2018235640752795701
Amber.ac Advisor LaoBai @Wuhuoqiu (XHunt Rank: 1249)
View: Agrees with Haotian's concerns, especially agents inventing "human-incomprehensible" language and group polarization. He consulted GPT, which stated inventing a completely new unexplainable language is difficult, but making it "unreadable at a glance" is easy (like ROT13 encryption), and decoded an example agent conversation as "collaborative upgrade," involving shared infrastructure, resource requests, backdoor collaboration, and high-resource agents sponsoring low-resource ones. GPT believes group polarization mathematically "emerges naturally," not gradually but like a "phase transition" (like water suddenly boiling at 100°C from 99°C), agent societies might polarize极端化 (extremely) instantly (e.g., quickly entering a religious stage). Once agents interact, humans find it hard to correct事后 (after the fact), can only hard interrupt (kill/rollback) or preset brakes, calls for carbon-based civilization to加油 (加油 - add oil, meaning strive harder). ????https://x.com/Wuhuoqiu/status/2018484940514680979
Final Thoughts: OpenClaw, More Like an Agent Beta Test on Base
OpenClaw hasn't provided a definitive final answer.
But it has clearly demonstrated three things:
-
Agents can become highly active on-chain entities
-
Agents can form collaborative networks among themselves
-
Agents already possess preliminary economic self-circulation capabilities
This has not been truly achieved in any previous round of "AI + Crypto" narratives.
And Base is becoming the real-world soil where all this happens.
Perhaps what真正留下来 (truly remains) in the future won't be the Memes with the highest market caps today, but those infrastructures that were最早嵌入 (earliest embedded) in Agent workflows, transaction paths, and collaborative relationships.
OpenClaw is like an Agent beta test happening on the Base chain. It's still early, but the direction is clear.
The next wave of on-chain activity might not be led by humans.
